Welcome to the President page! You're probably here because either (a) you're curious about what Duncan government does, (b) you're curious about what the President does, or (c) you have a burning desire to look at pictures of my glorious mug. Let's assume it's (c).
Though (a) is addressed elsewhere, hopefully I can go a short way toward addressing (b) and (c). However, if you have unanswered questions, my email is below!
To tell you a little bit about myself, am a senior majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Business. I was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, home of the world's largest working fire hydrant. Here at Rice, along with being Duncan President, I am a member of the Catholic Student Association and Nocturnal, one of the student a capella groups we have on campus (if you're a cool person who likes to sing with other cool people you should definitely audition in the fall!).
As Duncan President, it's my job to find creative ways to help you. With that in mind, I'm excited to work to build this community over the coming year through both your vision and my own. Duncan government usually holds weekly meeting where this process is started (called Forum, it happens on a weekday night TBD). However, given all the different interests present in the community, a lot of the conversation happens outside this more formal structure. If you have things you want to start, change, stop, etc, but you're not really sure what the first steps are, come find me; I'm sure we can get in touch with the right people.
Again, I hope you takeaway from this and other Duncan webpages a sense that, whatever it is that you're looking to do, we have or can create a structure to support your interest and your passion.
