Please see bottom of this page in order to download the PDF of the Move-In Day instructions provided to all domestic new students.
HOW TO GET TO DUNCAN COLLEGE ON MOVE-IN DAY
If you’re coming by car or shuttle: From Rice Boulevard, use Entrance 21. You’ll make a left on Campanile Road, get greeted by a LegO-Week Coordinator, then pull into an unloading spot (see map below!). Try to aim to be at your unloading spot at your designated move-in time, listed in the “When to Arrive at Duncan College” section! Your parents (or whoever is driving your vehicle) will make a U-turn at the barrier, drive to West Lot and park, and then return to Duncan via Rice shuttle. You’ll then go fill out some O-Week related forms, grab a T-shirt and meet some of the A-Team at Duncan, get some time to unpack your room, say goodbye to anyone accompanying you, eat lunch, and then the rest of O-Week will start! (See map below!)
Anyone who is a non new-student who is accompanying a new student:

You’ll make a U-turn at the barrier, drive to West Lot and park, and then return via Rice shuttle back to help your new student unpack their room for a little. You should plan on saying goodbye to your new student in the time allocated before lunch (which begins at 11:30 AM). Directly after lunch, you’ll be saying goodbye to your new student so they can start O-Week!

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMPUS
You should bring most everything you want at college to campus with you! However, especially for our out-of-state or international students, please note that there will be time during O-Week in which you’ll be taken to Target to buy anything else you may need. (So don’t worry about having to check shampoo and laundry detergent, etc.!) During the school year, you’ll figure out if you want drawers in the bathroom or need another towel, so don’t be too concerned about getting everything “just right” on Sunday, August 17.
Please do label all large bags, suitcases, boxes, and furniture you bring with you to campus with your room number! We have included a sheet of 10 labels with your room number printed on them. Don’t worry about the -1 or -2 at the end of your room number, this is just for us to be able to distinguish between roommates’ belongings. Please don’t contact us asking for additional labels; if you run out, we recommend that you use masking tape and a Sharpie to make some quick-and-easy labels!
Don’t forget to bring your LegO-Week book, this packet of information, and something that reminds of you home as well!
NOTES ON TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
Please note that you will have only a little time to say goodbye to your loved ones on Sunday, August 17, 2014. All new students should be moved into their rooms by 11 A.M., and families have from 11 to 11:30 A.M. to say goodbye before lunch begins at 11:30 A.M.
Anyone accompanying new students to campus is asked to leave Duncan College by 12:45 P.M. in order to let new students begin their O-Week activities. We recommend that you all take a little time before Move-In Day to say goodbye in your own homes, etc., as we recognize that Move-In Day is pretty rushed and crazy!
